One Giant Step

My life is based on two principles – life is an adventure; and there’s humor in everything.

Those were important touchstones during my 15 years in Fortune 500 companies. The aspect of adventure helped me realize the excitement and passion that can be present in our work and careers. And humor allowed me to see how we can overcome the frustrations that most of us face in our lives.

Corporate life gave me a front-row seat to observe leaders, teams, and relationships that were highly productive. It also helped me see how easy it can be for us to stray from the path that brings true fulfillment, and the difficulty we face to get back on track.

Those experiences serve my clients every day, as I help them discover new ways to bring about the excitement that they want in their lives, and embrace the resulting changes with a sense of humor.

So why did I pursue coaching? Honestly, it was the best career I could imagine:

  • I imagined helping people have careers, work environments and relationships that are meaningful and intentional.
  • I imagined a career that was flexible and compensated me for my talents.
  • I imagined that I could work from home and wear jeans and flip flops if I wanted to.
  • I imagined that I could surround myself with people who were committed to their own development.
  • I imagined that I could travel the world doing work that I love.
  • I imagined that I could deduct my subscription to O magazine as a business expense.
  • I imagined doing all of this with three cats and two beagles trotting around my house outside of Minneapolis, walking or rollerblading the city lakes, hiking on the North Shore, and cruising along in a vintage speedboat with my husband Kevin.

This is my life now!

So what do you imagine? Let’s work together, and make it a reality!
